Responding to the most recent controversies about whether an apology be issued by whites, to blacks, for slavery...I find it incumbent upon me to respond, as I am regarded my many blacks as white, and by many whites, as black. In many respects, I offer this apology to myself and accept it on my behalf. This nonsense is a reflection of, has been molded by, the nonsense of white supremacy, which has forced all culturalization to respond to it.
In careful consideration, I've worded the following apology.
It is to be published by the press, and readers solicited for signatures. Indeed, hard-copy reproductions may be placed in public areas for the gathering and archiving of signatures, and dialog toward reparation should be begun.
This method avoids the "catch 22" of a "governmental" apology, for acts of the American government represent the entire constituency, of which black Americans are a part, though governmental machinations have been hijacked by white supremacy in all but the drying of the ink.
A proper apology is not to erase simply guilt, but injury as well, by bearing its consequences to the satisfaction of the injured, for as action and reaction are equals in physical law, social law states that guilt is equal to injury. Victory is when both victims heal.
When done, the tragedy is ended.
Proper Apology
Dear Black Americans and Black America,
We are grievously sorry that we presented ourselves to you, in a war of European aggression against the peoples of the African continent as a separate and superior "white race" of people. Our further grief and sorrow is that we subjugated you to the injurious, damaging, traumatizing, and fatal nonsense of "white supremacy" in which we attacked you in your African homelands, and captured you amidst terrorist assault in which we killed significantly, randomly, and with design to subdue. Beyond this, we are sorry that we imprisoned you for transport to, and storage in, "factories" built for such purpose as to treat you like commercial stock, and in which more significant numbers of deaths occurred from our maltreatment. From these, we sold and loaded you onto ships for transport to support and profit our genocide against the dark-hued, native population of this continent, and for this, we are sorry.
In this context, we apologize further for the significant deaths that occurred by our maltreatment of your population during the transport to this land, and for all we did to make you into the cargo of our immigration, and the chattel of our agriculture. We apologize for the various frequent and constant tortures of person and mind, designed to strip you of your humanity by way of denying you your cultural identities and facilities. For this denial of your human rights to life and liberty, which compelled you to earn your tenuous survival solely through your adherence to our demands to serve our comfort in any and every way that we so decided, we apologize.
We apologize for the pretense of machinations bally-hooed to correct our unjust behavior, including the Emancipation Proclamation and America's Civil War, the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments, and Reconstruction, all of which had the effect of only removing you from the status of "chattel" and elevating you into the status of "slave". We apologize for the fact that despite the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts, and various other social and governmental initiatives, you remain the only residents of America who are known collectively solely by references to your skin color. Our apology extends to the fact that you are the only Americans without any ancestral or current reference to territorial origin beyond the continental. We include our shame that you are the only Americans who can speak only the language demanded of you, and whose self-proclaimed cultural title, "Black", is generally ignored, objected to, and referred to in our press as not a proper noun, but a common adjective, "black", without capitalization. We apologize further for this status that we have imposed and maintained, and its inherent consequences of alienation.
We apologize for exploiting that alienation to the profit of our industries and the perpetuation of our egotistical amusements, by improperly excluding you from the social advancements of this culture that we de facto share, and channeling you into positions of criminality, injury, illness, poverty, embarrassment, and punishment. We apologize for utilizing your contributions as incentives and guides for non-black, European/white, and white friendly immigrants, and your persons as the lowest rung of the ladder, the first and most to be stepped on, in the climb to "American" acceptance and success. We apologize for hijacking the hopeful founding of this nation and steering this ship of state into ports of inequity. We apologize for establishing, installing, instituting, perpetrating, and maintaining America as a "slaveocracy" on the pretense of "democracy". We renounce our violence against you, and rescind our oppression of you.
In truth, we are merely faded black people who conspired to make real and true our fantasy of white permanence. Our struggle served only our egos, and damaged the balance of nature, within and about us, as diseases of psychosis, environmental ruin, and crime. We apologize for projecting our disease to be present as your humanity, which we have so endeavored to keep in subjugation, ignoring the realities of truth that so oppose our dream, and creating realities of falsehoods to oppose the rights of your humanity
We are ashamed of our self-imposed disinheritance from our ancestry in the black, African community, and wish to repent from the comfort and guilt of our heinous crimes of stealth from, genocide against, and rape of, Africa. Here we break our bond with fear of "white genetic annihilation" in the realization that human "whiteness" is a recessive trait in the human genome, made evident in times of environmental stress upon the species in order to preserve the number of the species by decreasing the depths of its environmental interactions (energy use), in its individual members, and recedes when such stresses are relieved. Though the particular creativity of whites during this period may be remembered and celebrated, their decreasing number in no way interferes with the identity or value of their darkening offspring, and is a harmonious response and healthy indication of the species prospect in nature, as a community of individuals. We so apologize for artificially increasing the white percentage of the human genome, by the employment of the heinous tactics of our forebears
We apologize for exploiting the hate and familiarity of semitic peoples against you, and rewarding them, and demanding of them, toward your further subjugation.
To repair the damage of our campaigns, and repar our standing with you in humanity, we will act under the guidance of your judgment. We recognize that our judgment, except in providing this nation's founding documents and in asserting this apology, has been lacking in establishing peace, utilizing truth, rendering freedom, contracting justice, and conducting bravery. Though these principles are destined for this nation's expression, they are and have been delayed by and avoided in, our obstinacy and obfuscation, and here we apologize.
In extending this apology, we hope to have resonance in the world and with all those to whom we have pretended to be American, including ourselves, as it is also an apology for proclaiming America to be the home of the brave and the land of the free, when our actions, shackled as the have been by fear and greed, have done little to promote, involve, and establish either bravery or freedom, and in fact, have been so opposite as to have been entirely unAmerican. We acknowledge and apologize for our failure at adhering to this nation's prime directive of equality, and for our selfish favor of inequity that delivered to us the stolen power by which we have unjustly ruled. In our apology, we ask for your forgiveness and direction.
